Photomicrograph under inverted microscope in the first day of cell culture of bulge region of dissected rat hair follicles after enzymatic dissolution. Most cells showed flagstone to cobblestone morphology, × 20 (a). Cells attached with epithelium or stratified appearance at the second day, × 20 (b). Fibroblastic appearance of cells appeared at the fourth day, × 20 (c). The cells were varied in morphology with a fibroblast-like cell type as the principal type, × 20 (d).
