Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) Mechanism of Action for Scleroderma Treatment. MSCs can play a role in scleroderma treatment via different mechanism such as an anti-fibrotic effect on collagen accumulation, proangiogenic effect against vasculopathy, and anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects (Peltzer et al. 2018; Lim et al. 2017; Akiyama et al. 2012; Chen et al. 2017a; Maria et al. 2016b)
