Multi-dimensional RNA regulation in stem cells and development

RNA is widely considered to have played a pivotal role in the origin of life, and its importance extends far beyond that. In mammals, the vast majority of the genome is transcribed into RNA, but only a small fraction is translated into proteins, with most RNAs functioning as noncoding molecules. RNA is subject to a complex array of regulation, including transcription, processing, modification, degradation, and translation. In recent years, research has uncovered an increasing number of RNA molecules and modifications that are involved in regulating stem cells and development. As RNA-related technologies continue to advance, there is great potential for these molecules to be used in regenerative medicine to direct the fate of cells.

Cell Regeneration is currently soliciting submissions for its forthcoming special issue on "Multi-dimensional RNA regulation in stem cells and development," which aims to showcase the latest advances in the field and highlight the critical role that RNA and RNA-related pathways play in regulating stem cells and development.

We will especially welcome Research, Method and Review submissions, including (but not limited to) the following directions in the context of stem cell self-renewal and differentiation, as well as in early animal development:

  • Noncoding RNAs
  • RNA binding proteins
  • RNA processing (capping, splicing and polyadenylation)
  • RNA localization and transport
  • Secondary and higher-order RNA structure
  • RNA modifications and editing
  • RNA technology
  • RNA therapy

The Editor-in-Chief of Cell Regeneration will review all submissions prior to peer review and may reject any of them that do not fit the scope of the journal or do not meet the journal's standards for peer review. All articles of Thematic Series will undergo full, independent peer review, in line with the journal's ethical and editorial policies, outlined in its submission guidelines. There is no guarantee of acceptance, even for commissioned or invited papers. The journal’s Editor-in-Chief has a final authority on editorial content.
